Vinca

Vinca (Catharanthus roseus, also known as Madagascar Periwinkle) is a popular, low-maintenance flowering plant native to Madagascar, loved for its vibrant, continuous blooms in white, pink, or purple, and its drought-tolerance in sunny, hot conditions. Beyond its ornamental appeal, vinca is famous for producing powerful vinca alkaloids (like vincristine and vinblastine) used in chemotherapy to fight cancer, and it has traditional medicinal uses for diabetes. It’s a tough, spreading plant that attracts pollinators and provides great ground cover in gardens.
