Tithonia
Tithonia, commonly known as Mexican Sunflower, is a genus of daisy-like flowering plants (family Asteraceae) native to Mexico and Central America, prized for their bright, large, orange-red to yellow blooms that attract pollinators like butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds, while also being valued in traditional medicine and agriculture as a fast-growing, nutrient-rich biomass for green manure and fodder. These sun-loving, drought-tolerant shrubs or annuals can grow tall (4-6+ feet) with coarse, hairy foliage, producing abundant flowers from summer to autumn, but can become aggressive and invasive in some tropical/subtropical regions.
