Portulaca, commonly known as Moss Rose or Purslane, is a genus of vibrant, sun-loving succulents grown for their bright, rose-like flowers in pink, orange, yellow, red, and white, thriving in heat and drought due to fleshy, water-storing leaves and stems, making them low-maintenance, popular annuals for groundcover, borders, and containers, attracting butterflies and even being edible in some varieties like P. oleracea.
