Hypoestes phyllostachya, known as the Polka Dot Plant, is a popular, low-maintenance houseplant prized for its vibrant, spotted leaves in pink, red, white, or green, thriving in bright, indirect light and warm, humid conditions, requiring consistent moisture but good drainage, and adding cheerful color to indoor gardens. Native to Madagascar, it’s also called the Freckle Face plant and is great for beginners, though it needs regular pinching to stay bushy.
