Cineraria

Cineraria refers to two main plants: Prosopis cineraria, a vital, drought-tolerant, multipurpose tree in Indian deserts (also called Khejri, sacred to Hindus) with edible pods and medicinal uses, and Cineraria maritima (Senecio cineraria), a popular annual/houseplant known for its silver foliage and vibrant, daisy-like spring flowers, often grown in pots for early color. The tree (Prosopis) is hardy, deep-rooted, and provides fodder, while the flowering plant (Senecio) is grown for ornamental beauty and blooms once, offering easy-to-grow color.
